Pangu is most commonly pronounced "pahn GOO" (/pɑːnˈɡuː/). This is one of several readings in active use; the developer community hasn't converged on a single answer.

Huawei's large-model family (盘古大模型, pinyin pángǔ), named for the primordial giant of Chinese creation myth. The two syllables are pan + gu (Mandarin IPA [pʰǎn.kù]), with the 'an' as in 'father'. The attested English pronunciation (Wiktionary) is /pɑːnˈɡuː/ — pahn-GOO — and the 'pan' has a plain /n/, NOT an 'ng'. English speakers very commonly misread 'pan-gu' as PANG-goo, fusing an /ŋ/ that isn't in the original and shifting the syllable boundary to pang|u.
