maturin is most commonly pronounced "mat uh rin" (/ˈmætʊrɪn/). This is the widely-used reading among engineers, though edge cases exist.
STRESS first syllable: MAT-uh-rin (short 'a' as in 'mat', NOT ma-TUR-in). PyO3's official CLI to build & publish Rust-based Python wheels (used by polars, pydantic-core, etc.; pip-installable). The README doesn't document a pronunciation, but 'Maturin' is a real French Huguenot given name (cf. Stephen Maturin in O'Brian's Aubrey–Maturin novels), and references consistently put the stress on the FIRST syllable. A yod variant 'MAT-yuh-rin' also occurs.

Pronouncing project and product names correctly avoids the small but persistent friction of being gently corrected during standups, conference Q&As, and team calls. Hearing the word a few times locks in the right reading better than reading IPA ever will. Pronounce is a community-maintained dictionary — every entry tagged with a confidence level and (where possible) a citable source.
