How to pronounce Junie

Junie is most commonly pronounced "joo nee" (/ˈdʒuːni/). This is the widely-used reading among engineers, though edge cases exist.

Junie is JetBrains' AI coding agent (launched April 2025; moved out of beta to general availability June 17, 2026), running inside JetBrains IDEs (IntelliJ IDEA, PyCharm, WebStorm, GoLand, Rider, CLion, PhpStorm, RubyMine) and as a standalone CLI. Said "JOO-nee" — stress on the first syllable, long "oo" — exactly like the English given name/nickname Junie (as in the children's-book character Junie B. Jones): "June" + "-ee".
