How to pronounce Grype

Grype is most commonly pronounced "gripe" (/ˈɡraɪp/). This pronunciation is documented by the project itself (see Anchore OSS Docs — "Grype (rhymes with hype) is an open-source vulnerability scanner").

Grype is Anchore's open-source vulnerability scanner for container images, filesystems and SBOMs, the companion to Syft. Anchore's official docs spell it out: "Grype (rhymes with hype)" — so it is simply the word "gripe". The y-spelling misleads readers into "grip", "GRIP-ee" or a French-looking "gree-PAY", all of which are wrong.
